HE DOESN’T COME BY CHANCE
He doesn’t come by chance
“Why haven’t I received the Holy Spirit yet?”

Well, if you’re asking this question, at least you’ve taken the first step toward the baptism: you’ve heard about Him and you want to receive Him.

But one thing you can be sure of: He will not come by chance.

The Word of God says, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).

His eyes run to and fro throughout the whole earth, and what are they looking for? What does He need to find in you to seal you with His presence?

Make believe you are a successful businessperson who wants to expand their business; but to achieve this, you need to employ or promote staff—directors, managers, etc.

Since their salary is not a problem for you, what main things would you look for in these people?

Besides, of course, their professional experience, you’d certainly look for someone who was obstinate to make your business grow; and for this, the person would need to be confident so that others would follow him or her, and at the same time be HUMBLE to learn.

You would also want him or her to share their opinions and come up with new ideas, and at the same time be OBEDIENT to follow your guidance.

It would be a great investment, so you wouldn’t want someone who would work for you for just a few months and then look for a new job. You’d look for someone who was LOYAL and who was willing to be by your side not only in good times but also in bad times.

But that’s not all. You want to continue growing your business, and this means that you’ll need more directors and managers in the future, so you’d look for people who weren’t selfish, but ready to TEACH OTHERS, sharing with them what they themselves had learnt from you.

In other words, you’d look for people who were HUMBLE, OBEDIENT, LOYAL, and ready to TRAIN OTHERS.

Isn’t it also what God is trying to find in people to fill them with the Holy Spirit?

He is looking for people who are humble to learn; obedient to put His Word into practice; loyal to Him, especially in difficult moments and times of temptation, to finish the race and keep the faith; and of course, people who are ready to share with others what He has given them, so that His Kingdom may be increased.

So if you aren’t humble, then start being humble. If you’re disobedient, decide to obey. If you haven’t been loyal, choose to be loyal. If you’re selfish, start sharing—it’s up to you, and if you decide to make the right choices, the Holy Spirit will help you.

During these 21 days of the Fast of Daniel, don’t expect the Holy Spirit to come upon you as if by magic.

CAUSE your baptism with the Holy Spirit by making the eyes of the Lord see these traits in you.

And don’t forget: He desires to come upon you more than you do.

God bless.
