Do you love me ?
Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, “Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” Luke 9:57-58
Jesus not only spoke but also showed to the disciples the difficulties and the hard times that they had to go through for serving Him. Those who want to serve Jesus have to have open arms for everything in order to do the will of God. They have to shed from themselves like many servants of God that preach for this world outside . Because whoever desires to do the work of God has to be willing to pay the price which is the "resignation "
The one who sacrificed his life, his own will in this world to please God, will be rewarded in heaven. Jesus said to the disciples, that they had left everything for his sake, would have a hundredfold in this world and eternal life to come. We must always ask: What would Jesus do if he were in my place? In this way we can through the Holy Spirit know if we are doing God's will or our own will.
"Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead; and you go and proclaim the kingdom of God. And another said: I will follow you, Lord; but let me first say farewell to those at my house. And Jesus said to him, No man, having put his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God" (Luke 9: 60-62)..
If we do something for someone, we should do it while they are alive, because the most urgent things in this life is to announce the kingdom of God, and this mission must be about anything else that we have to do in this life. It is for this reason still we remain in this world, so that everyone gets the chance of salvation.
"When they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these? He replied: Yes, Lord, you know I love you. He said to him, Feed my sheep.
He said to him the second time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter answered: Yea, Lord; You know that I love you. He said, Feed my sheep.
He told the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, Do you love me? And he said: Lord, you know everything; You know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep "(John 21: 15-17)..
The Lord Jesus is among the meek, the meek of spirit, the desperate, sick, drugged, finally, among those who are considered nothing for this world.
Note that each time Peter said, I love you, Jesus had a job, feed my sheep. The most worship we can offer to God is when we save one soul to Him. Because there is nothing more precious to God than souls, so we can not prove our love for Him just in words only attitudes in regarding souls. And only those who love Jesus, love gets souls, and those who loves souls certainly loves Jesus
