Development
Once a woman becomes pregnant, she knows the child should develop every month.
When a fetus stops developing in the womb, the doctor will diagnosis this as a high-risk pregnancy. This is, she can have a miscarriage at any moment.
If the fetus develops well, at the end of 9 months, a baby is born. After birth, he evolves; during the first months, he begins to gain weight, grow, crawl and learn to walk – all of this happens during the first year.
If he doesn’t speak or walk during the first and second year, his parents know they are facing a big problem, because the child was born perfect, but did not develop properly.
How can we bring this to our lives? How can we bring this to the needs of the Church?
A person is in church (womb). He begins going to church, so the normal thing to happen is that his life with God develops through the instructions he receives from the Word of God. He begins to develop his spiritual side (a communion with God, through prayer, fasts, reading and daily meditation on the Word of God, etc.) until he is born again.
How many people came to church (womb) searching for a miracle, received something from God by using their faith, but did not want to make a commitment to God, so they didn’t develop their lives with Him, were not baptized in water and eventually left the church (womb)? Actually, what happened was that they were “aborted”.
On the other hand, there are those who came to church, accepted the Lord Jesus, developed, were born again, but then stopped developing and today, they have become old in the church, but remain in a child’s body; this is, they are in church, but haven’t received the Holy Spirit yet.
Why is this?
Because they stopped developing.
And the worse part is that many think this is normal.
…of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5.11-14
